Waistbelt clasp, officer’s, 2nd (South) Middlesex Rifle Volunteer Corps, 1870 (c) Plain gilt metal wire belt fittings. Frosted rectangular plate with burnished edges bearing the following silver design: between two oakleaf and acorn sprays, a shield charged with three seaxes, one above the other on a hatched ground. Above the shield is a monarchial crown, below all a frosted scroll bearing the title, 'South Middlesex Rifle Volunteers'.
