Description
Officer's shoulder belt plate, 1778-1783. Associated with 72nd Regiment of Foot or Royal Manchester Volunteers. Silver gilt rectangular plate bearing the following engraved design: within a scalloped border the entwined letters, 'RMV', surmounted by a monarchial crown. Below the letters is the title, '72nd Regt'. On reverse at upper edge centre a silver hook fitting. In each lower corner a silver stud fitting.
