Description
Officer's shoulder belt plate, gilt copper, rectangular, 1840-1880. Associated with 79th (The Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders) Regiment of Foot. Design mounted upon a frosted plate with raised burnished edges. Superimposed upon a wreath of thistles surmounted by a monarchial crown, the Roman numerals, 'LXXIX'. The reverse bears two hooks at the top and two studs at the base.
