Associated with 96th Regiment of Foot.
A gilded copper, eight-pointed rayed star almost covered by a silver, eight-pointed, rayed faceted star upon the centre of which is a frosted gilt metal Garter with roped border, bearing the Garter motto.
Within the Garter the silver numeral, '96', in relief and decorated with scrolls, upon a frosted gilt metal domed ground.
Above the Garter, a gilt metal monarchial crown.
The design is attached to the gilded copper star with four copper loops with brass pin.
On each transverse arm of the star a piece of solder.
