Officers’ shoulder belt plate, Royal Berkshire Militia, 1804-1810. White metal, engraved with a monarchial crown in the centre, with two scrolls, one above and one below the crown. Upon the reverse one hook (replaced) and two stud fittings. Below the hook are three vertically placed white metal plugs indicating the previous existence of holes in the plate. The lower of these possibly indicates a previous hook, the other two may have been for the purpose of a mount.
