Description
Officer's shoulder belt plate, Huntingdonshire Local Militia, 1808-1816. Oval frosted gilt metal plate with raised silver rim bearing the following mounted silver design: the letters 'HM' surmounted by a monarchial crown, below all a frosted scroll with burnished edges bearing the title 'Local'. On reverse a brass backing plate attached to which is a hook at upper edge and two studs at lower edge.
