Description
Officer's shoulder belt plate, Kerry Militia, 1850 (c). Rectangular, silvered copper, design mounted on a burnished ground. A female harp facing dexter. Above the harp, a monarchial crown. Below the harp a frosted scroll with rope-pattern borders, embellished at the ends with foliate designs and bearing the burnished title, 'Kerry'. On either side of the title is a shamrock. The reverse bears two hook fittings at the top and two studs at the base.
