Blue cloth with two bands of 1 1/4 inches wide scarlet cloth with a band of scarlet cloth piping between down each outside leg. On right front, 1 3/4 inches below upper edge, a welt pocket. On the left front let into upper edge, a pocket. Upper edge bound with 1/8 inch wide black Italian cloth. Evidence of foot straps having been worn (now absent). Six black composition buttons at waist edge bearing the manufacturer's name: Hobson and Sons London, two on each front and two at centre back.
