Officer's shoulder belt plate, South Devon Militia, 1845 (c). Rectangular silver plate bearing the following design in relief: within a gilt metal garter bearing the title, 'South Devon Regt of Militia', the silver cypher, 'VR', upon a domed gilt metal ground. Above the garter is a gilt metal monarchial crown. On reverse a brass hook at each upper corner and a brass stud at each lower corner with a brown leather lining.
