Double breasted coatee, Northamptonshire Militia, worn by Lt W H Hawker, 1832 (c).
Scarlet with black velvet facings. Silver lace to collars, cuffs and tails. Twenty buttons to front made by Shaw London, four buttons to left cuff, one button is missing from right cuff which has three. Ten buttons to back and four to collar.

Tail ornaments in silver work of a strung bugle with plate work, and spangles. There aer small reinforced holes to shoulders, back and front.

Lining is cream with a pocket in left tail, cuffs and collar lining is black. Moth grazing and hole damage thorughout.
