Blue wool serge. Fastens with five buttons at front. Lower skirt edges curved at front. Patch pocket with three pointed flap on each breast and hip. Upright collar fastening with hooks and eyes at front, with black Italian cloth lining and five studs on inside for attaching patrol collar. Pointed cuffs fastening with two buttons at rear.  Shoulder straps fastening with single button and bearing lieutenants’ anodised rank badge. Body lined with blue Italian cloth, sleeves lined with white Italian cloth. Gold anodised aluminium buttons, with die struck design of a thistle flower between two thistle leaves, the whole surmounted by a monarchial crown.
