Description
British/ Troops/ cheering/ whilst at/ standing (?)/ ease (?). Pencil drawing by William Barns Wollen, 1890 (c). The duke is depicted riding his charger ‘Copenhagen’ past a horse artillery team during the Waterloo campaign. The National Army Museum’s collection also includes a watercolour drawing of a similar composition by the same artist. Associated with FM Sir Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington, the Royal Horse Artillery and with the Battle of Waterloo, Napoleonic Wars, Waterloo (1815).
