Description
Letter written to his cousin by Frederick Nicholls of the Army Works Corps Camp at Stationary Engine, Balaklava, 6 Dec 1855. Nicholls describes his voyage out to the Crimea and the conditions he found on arrival. There is also a transcript with the letter. Associated with the Crimean War (1854-1856). (The letter was originally in a glass frame).
