No 1 Hougomont[sic] The House and farme du - Gourman from the Right. Sepia watercolour over pencil on paper by Denis Dighton (1792-1827), 1815, signed lower right ‘Denis Dighton del/ MP.to.his.RH.PR’ [Military Painter to his Royal Highness the Prince Regent]. Distant view of Hougoumont, in the foreground a single shako lies discarded amongst standing corn. From a series of nine landscape views of the battlefield of Waterloo painted shortly after the battle, 1815. Distant view of Hougoumont showing the Attack on the British Squares by French Cavalry.
