Wine flagon, 1858 (c). Silver, made by D H C H (Hands and Son), hallmarked London, 1857-1858. Body is engraved with stylised flora and fauna, with an oval cartouche on both sides inscribed, 'PRESENTED/ TO/ The Officers/ 70TH NATIVE INFANTRY/ by/ The Officers/ OF HER MAJESTY'S/ 84TH REGIMNT'. With hinged lid and question mark shaped handle. Associated with 84th (York and Lancaster) Regiment of Foot and the Indian Mutiny (1857-1859).
