Description
Badge, brass, Surrey Militia, 1806 (c). Superimposed upon an eight-pointed, rayed star, a garter bearing the title, 'Surry', within which is a monarchial crown. This is probably not a badge of a regular Surrey regiment since the 2nd Foot does not appear with the county title until 1881. Also the paschal lamb and motto would probably be in evidence. Surrey Volunteers would probably bear the name of the town rather than the County. The badge may be from the centre of a belt plate or may be a pouch badge.
