Cast white metal
A horizontally hatched garter with rope pattern borders surmounted by a monarchial crown and bearing the burnished title, 'Claro Rifles'.
Within the garter a depiction of the unofficial arms of Knaresborough viz: a castle in base, over the castle on a wreath a dexter hand in armour, couped at wrist, holding a branch of acorns.
Below the garter a stringed bugle horn, below which is a frosted scroll bearing the burnished motto, 'Loyal Yet Free'.
The reverse bears three brass screw and nut fittings.
