Description
Officer's shoulder belt plate, 1842-1855. Associated with St Helena Regiment. Rectangular gilt plate bearing the following silver design in relief: within a laurel wreath a garter bearing the title, 'St Helena Regiment' in Gothic script. Within the garter the cypher 'VR' upon a domed, gilt ground. Above the garter is a silver monarchial crown. On the reverse a hook in each upper corner and a stud in each lower corner.
