Description
Officer's shoulder belt plate, 1806 (c). Associated with Cumberland Whitehaven Volunteer Infantry or Yorkshire North Riding, Whitby Volunteer Infantry. Oval gilt copper plate bearing the following incised design: the entwined letters, 'WVI', surmounted by a monarchial crown. On reverse a hook at upper edge and two studs at lower edge.
