Description
Officer's shoulder belt plate, Lancaster Volunteers, 1804 (c) Oval gilt brass plate bearing the following incised design. A shield charged with the Arms of the Duke of Lancaster, above which is a scroll bearing the title, 'Lancaster', and below all, a scroll bearing the title, 'Volunteers'. On the reverse is a hook at upper edge and two studs at lower edge. This unit comprised six infantry companies and was commanded by John Bradshaw esq., c.1804
