Officer's shoulder belt plate, 2nd or North Devon Militia, 1798 (c). Oval silver gilt plate bearing the following design: within a mounted silver garter bearing the title, 'Devon Militia', an incised representation of the Union flag (pre 1801). Above the garter, a silver monarchial crown in relief. On the reverse a hook at upper edge, two studs at lower edge and a white chamois leather lining.
