Papers: A to C. One page typed copy of pages 10-11 of a handlist of the Cholmondeley (Houghton) MSS (Sir Robert Walpole’s Archive. Army papers covering period 1692 to 1740). From a box containing papers divided up by a set of East-Light Index dividers (A to L), described on spine as ‘Personal Papers’. The material consists exclusively of lists (and reports) of collections of papers and archive material either directly illustrative of, or highlighted to show relevance to, British military history from the end of the seventeenth century to the early twentieth centuries. HMC lists suggest the information was put together in the 1950s and 1960s. Collection of lists of private papers of military individuals.
