Description
Photocopy of manuscript letter from John Rennie to Maj Gen Brownrigg, the Quarter Master General, dated 1 Oct 1804. Rennie explains that because of his profession as a Civil Engineer he is debarred from undertaking the contract for the construction of the Royal Military Canal, although he was prepared to ‘undertake the direction & management of the execution of the work’.
