Description
Bound, illustrated manuscript journal: Round Africa in 109 days. Kept by F C Oldfield who left Southampton on 28 Feb 1903 and travelled via Madeira, Cape Town, Bloemfontein, Pretoria, Durban, Dar-es-Salaam, Aden, Suez, Cairo, Milan, Lucerne and Paris back to London, which he reached on 17 Jun 1903. The narrative is purely topographical, illustrated with commercially produced photographs, including some of the Boer War in Natal. Associated with the Boer War (1899-1902).
