Description
Dessert plate, 94th Regiment of Foot, 1881 (c). Porcelain, by Coalport, 1881-1891, stamped on base with retailers mark ‘Callum and Sharpus 1872-1893 in pink, 1881 (c). Bearing a device showing ‘XCIV’ in gold on red within a gold edged green crowned garter inscribed ‘Assaye’ White glazed with overpainted decoration. Associated with the Battle of Assaye, 2nd Maratha War (1803-1805).
