Description
Portion of sari purporting to have belonged to the Rani of Jhansi, Indian Mutiny (1857-1859). The sari was owned by the Mahrani of Jhansi and worn by her whilst leading mutinous troops in the Indian Mutiny, 1857 (c). Rectangular fine weaved; undyed; ends woven with stripes; green border at top; bottom edge: pattern repeated on a crimson ground.
