Portrait of Lieutenant (later Lieutenant Colonel) George Patrick Grant (1876-1955) in uniform wearing his Distinguished Service Order decoration. Born in 1876, Grant served with the Border Regiment before transferring to the Indian Army. He served with the 26th Baluchistan Infantry and the 106th Hazara Pioneers. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order in 1902 for his actions during the Mekran Expedition (1901-1902). He rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and retired from the Army in 1922.
