Pair of rank badges, slip on, for wear on tropical dress, captains’, Unattached List, India, worn by Capt A I Bowman, 1944 (c). Embroidered front and sewn, three Bath Stars embroidered in buff and khaki cotton on to square dark khaki wool patches at equal distances on to a tapering tube of khaki cotton drill. Bowman was commissioned 2/Lt Indian Army (Emergency Commission) in 1942 and is not recorded with the rank of Capt in the Army Lists.
