Description

Leather bound manuscript Order Book of an unidentified Royal Artillery Unit, beginning in Brussels on 11 Apr 1815 and ending with General Orders, Paris and Garrison, Division and Brigade Orders, Versailles, 22 Jan 1816. Includes appointments of the commanders of each brigade and formations, brigade attachments, equipment and horses provided, arrests, court martials, subscription, claims from the families of soldiers disabled or severely wounded or killed. Written and read sideways (like a flip book), sometimes written from Horse Guards Headquarters. However near the end of the book, the writing is in the opposite direction, and is about Garrison Orders from Versailles, Amiens and Glatigny. Associated with the Napoleonic Wars, Waterloo (1815).
