HM IXth Regt entering Allahabad After the War. Coloured aquatint by J Harris after Henry Martens, from an original sketch by Bethune Donald Grant, 1849. Associated with the 2nd Sikh War (1848-1849). From the series R Ackermann’s Costumes of the Indian Army, No 41. Shows a marching column, including officers in stable jackets and white caps, ensigns with ragged colours and other ranks with shakos in white covers.
