Description
Handwritten notes relating to Lt Col George Gawler’s article, ‘Crisis at Waterloo’, published in the United Services Journal, No 56, Part 2, 1833. Author unknown, but may be by Gawler. Recounts the 52nd (Oxfordshire) Regiment of Foot’s (Light Infantry) attack on the French Imperial Guard led by General Frederick Adam, between La Belle Alliance and La Haye Sainte, with the French retreating. Manuscript notes relating to the treatise on the Battle of Waterloo written by Lt Col George Gawler, 52nd (Oxfordshire) Regiment of Foot (Light Infantry), 1815.
