Belonged to Maj (later Lt Col) Charles Sumner Stooks, 5th Light Infantry.
Possibly used during Stooks’ service in Cameroon, 1915-1916.
Stooks commanded a detachment of Indian troops who had formerly served as the 5th Light Infantry (and mutinied) in Singapore in 1915.
The bag is of green canvas, with leather edges.
The flap is secured with a popper.,
There is a leather belt loop on the back.
