Description
Mess jacket section, field officers’, Life Guards (1st and 2nd), 1923, standard pattern, 1923. Scarlet wool cloth with blue velvet upright collar and pointed cuffs. Gold thread oakleaf pattern lace. Gold thread gimp. Blue woollen cloth braid. Gold round cord. Gilt metal button with diestruck ‘LG’ either side of the royal crest, below which the numeral ‘2’, all within a scalloped border. Gilt metal stud. Blue velvet piping. Body lined with drab silk, sleeves lined with white cotton.
