Black japanned metal with gilt metal chin chain fitting, universal ball and spike socket, peak edging, peak decoration and circular link chin chain. Die struck rose on chin chain fitting. Peak decoration formed of two laurel sprays. Brown leather inner headband. Gilt metal and silver plate helmet plate, with design of the royal cypher ‘GVR’ surmounted by a monarchial crown, all upon an eight pointed rayed star, with a scroll bearing ‘KING’S NORFOLK / IMPL / YEOMY’ below the star, the whole between two laurel sprays.
