Description
Cigarette case presented by the Viceroy of India, Lord Irwin, to Brig R D Ambrose, after he had commanded his infantry guard, Simla, 1930. Silver, hallmarked London 1927-28. Rectangular, with elastic strap to retain cigarettes, inside, machine-tooled lozenge decoration all over, with badge engraved on plain plate at top left. Presented after commanding his infantry guard of two companies in Simla, 1930.
