Description
Peaked forage cap badge, Cawnpore Volunteer Rifle Corps, 1902-1917. Brass. Within twin sprays of laurel an angel standing with arms raised and crossed upon its chest, each hand holding an olive branch. Below the angel, and across the base of the sprays, a scroll bearing the motto ‘DEFENCE NOT DEFIANCE’. Above the angel, and between the tops of the sprays, a monarchial crown. Reverse bears a flat slider fitting.
