Sword exercise medal awarded to Henry Hollams, Leek Troop, Staffordshire Volunteer Cavalry, 1808.
Silver, unhallmarked, with fixed loop suspender, raised cross-hatched border on both sides, engraved design and inscription within the border on a plain surface. 
Obverse: Centrally, within an oval cartouche, the cypher ‘GR’ surmounted by a crown. Below the cypher ‘1808’. The cartouche rests upon a floral plinth and the whole is flanked by floral scrolls. Surmounting the cartouche, the letter ‘V’ surmounted by the letter ‘C’. Above all, a scroll.
