Riding medal awarded to Pte J Rickard, Fifeshire Light Horse Volunteers, 1886.
Bronze, with a relief design and inscription within a raised rim on both sides. Awarded for the trotting ride at the Scottish Military Tournament, Edinburgh, 1886. Suspended upon a loose ring, passing through another loose ring, through which passes a corded white silk ribbon with a central light blue stripe and two bordering black stripes.
Obverse: A depiction of the Thane of Fife.
Reverse: Inscription within a wreath of thistles.
