Description
Officers’ shoulder belt plate, 3rd Regiment of Lothian (Mid) Local Militia, 1808-1814. Mounted upon a gilt copper plate, a white metal design of a rayed star similar in shape to the star of the Order of the Thistle, the topmost point of which is displaced by a monarchial crown. At the centre of the star a circlet, within which is a thistle. One hook and two stud fittings upon the reverse. The plate is backed with an oval piece of buff leather.
