Regimental medal awarded by Capt Commandant J C Graham to Sgt Maj McKenzie, 7th Argyllshire Artillery Volunteer Corps, 1871. White metal, suspended by a loose ring passing through a smaller ring fixed between the thistle flowers at top of wreath. A repoussé wreath of thistles tied at base and terminating at top in two thistle flowers. Enclosed within the wreath, two slightly-domed ovals each with a beaded border within a raised rim and engraved with designs. Obverse: The uniformed figure of a gunner holding a sponge rammer, facing into the medal and partially obscuring a field gun. Reverse: Inscription.
