Officers’ pouch belt plate, 5th (Territorial) Bn, Prince Albert’s (Somersetshire Light Infantry), 1908-1914.
A gilt metal eight-pointed rayed star, the topmost point of which is displaced by a monarchial crown. Mounted upon the star, a gilt metal design of a frosted Garter bearing the Garter motto, within a laurel wreath. Upon the base of the wreath, a frosted white metal scroll. Within the Garter, a mounted white metal design of an embellished stringed bugle-horn surmounted by a mural crown, above which is a frosted curved scroll, all mounted upon a black velvet ground. Three gilt metal loop fittings on reverse.
