Red, white, blue, green, yellow; flaming grenade bearing a tiger within a crowned garter inscribed ‘Royal Munster Fusiliers; above, a monarchial crown between two scrolls, inscribed ‘1914 / 1917’; to left of garter, flags of Russia, Japan and Italy; to right of garter, flags of Serbia, France and Belgium; the whole on the background of a Union flag.
Made by an Irish soldier who had no previous experience in needlework whilst a prisoner of war during World War One, 1918 (c).
