Military Medal of Charles Douglas Neville Walker, Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Force.

Sgt Walker served with the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps and was second in command of the independent armoured car detachment under Lt M G Carruthers, which was intended to support infantry of other units. On 23rd December 1941 Sgt Walker led a section of 6 Platoon HKVDC in fierce fighting in the Wong Neichong Gap, and held up the enemy with considerable casualties. He surrendered on Christmas Day that year and was taken Prisoner of War by the Japanese.
