Photograph of King Theodore’s tomb, Magdala, Abyssinia, 1868. From a group of seven photographs collected by Arthur Young. British soldiers with their rifles close at hand positioned outside an Abyssinian church at Magdala. A photographic team from the Royal Engineers, led by Sergeant John Harrold accompanied the British force that took the Abyssinian fortress of Magdala in 1868. Associated with Emperor Tewodros II of Abyssinia.
