With the Union flag and in the centre a bust length portrait of Lord Roberts looking to the left, surrounded by Boer War battle honours and inscribed, ‘LORD ROBERTS VC’. Lord Roberts wears medals, from left to right: Victoria Cross, Indian Mutiny Medal 1857-58; Indian General Service Medal 1854-94; Abyssinian War Medal 1867-68; 2nd Afghan War Medal 1878-80; Kabul to Kandahar Star 1880.
