Vignette of the Grenadier Guardsman fiercely defending the colours, amongst the wounded, against Russian infantry; this incident does not appear in the regimental or campaign histories and there may have been confusion with the action by Sgt Minor, Grenadier Guards, at the same battle, for which he won the Victoria Cross.
