Description
Pattern 1821 Indian Army Officer’s sword, 1855 (c). Curved blade with false edge, inscribed with Victorian cypher, retailers name, Gordon and Son, and owner’s name, Brig Gen Sir Henry Montgomery Lawrence. Three bar steel hilt; chequered wooden grip. Associated with the Siege of Lucknow, Indian Mutiny (1857-1859).
