Description
Plaque, 1857; tinned steel rectangle with nail holes around the edge and punched with the name, ‘HAVELOCK’; with a note possibly written by FM Sir Garnet Wolseley, who was sent the plaque; the note describes the plaque as that which was nailed to the tree beside the grave of Sir Henry Havelock (?); associated with the Indian Mutiny.
