Billiard ball, 1857 (c); fragmentary remains of an ivory billiard ball; four large pieces and numerous small chips; the largest piece is the core, with the ; the ivory has been burnt and turned slate grey as a result; contained on a cylindrical tobacco box; ball is from the officers’ mess of the 61st Bengal Native Infantry and was destroyed during the Indian Mutiny, 1857.
