Description
The Poona Horse Standard, surmounted by a silver hand, captured at the Battle of Kooshab. Pen and ink drawing by Alfred Crowdy Lovett, 1910 (c). The original for the illustration on p124 of G F MacMunn’s ‘Armies of India’, published in 1911. The silver finial in the form of a hand had surmounted the standard of the First Khushgai Regiment of Fars and was captured by the Poona Horse at Koosh-ab in the Persian War, 1857.
